Stephanie is a Muscle and Energy Metabolism Research Scientist at the Translational Research Institute for Metabolism and Diabetes (TRI).  She is responsible for leading the development and conduct of translational research at the TRI, including industry, NIH, pharmaceutical, and government-sponsored and investigator-initiated research supporting the TRI scientific research mission.

Stephanie’s graduate and post-doctoral research training focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms that control skeletal muscle fiber type determination and growth as well as the signaling pathways that impact the pathological progression of muscle degeneration associated with muscular dystrophy.   Following her training, she worked for Wyeth (Collegeville, PA) as a Translational Scientist, supporting discovery and clinical efforts in the area of skeletal muscle wasting disorders.  Most recently, she worked for Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute (La Jolla, CA) where she worked on human progenitor stem cell differentiation.

Stephanie earned her Ph.D. from the department of Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Cincinnati.
